Zimalek is an investment advisory company that bridges the gap between African start-ups and investors. Our goal is primarily to simplify the processes that investors undergo in investing in African start-ups while aiming to reduce investors’ risk concerns and also enabling start-ups to access funding opportunities. We achieve these goals by a funds-splitting model which allows several investors to co-invest their funds in units of investments, thereby creating the larger pool of funds required by business founders. By this investment model, the investors share the risks and profits of their investment according to the volume of their stakes in the target start-ups. We recognize the abundance of opportunities in the African start-ups environment as well as the difficulties faced by these start-ups in getting funds to scale beyond a certain level of growth. On the other hand, we also realize the risks that investors are exposed to when they invest in start-ups. To balance these concerns, therefore, we use our tested service models to effectively boost investor confidence while assisting the target start-ups in raising the capital that they need for business activities.
We take our time to make wide researches about the business startups to reduce the risks to the barest minimum by running a proper KYC on these businesses starting with the authenticity of CAC registration documents, the directors of the companies to the operational executives, all government regulatory certifications needed for these businesses and their financial records before we onboard them.

Zimalek was founded in the year 2020 by the CEO, Frank Obiadi as a technology company building websites and web applications for individuals, cooperate bodies and government agencies. In early 2023, the Company realized that over 60% of the projects it had done were for early business owners who shared positive feedbacks of the Company’s passion, energy and affordable quality service. In addition to this, the Company’s clients at the time shared their challenges which mostly related to the issue of raising and managing scarce capital for their projects. This motivated the Company’s interest to expand in this direction. In the later part of 2023, the Company transitioned from its web/app development activities to focus on helping the start-ups to grow by uniting them with a community of brilliant business partners, angel investors and venture capital. Now, considering on the one hand, the difficulties faced by businesses in their quest to raise investment funds to keep their relatively new businesses running, and the risk concerns of prospective investors on the other hand, the Company decided to balance the competing concerns by building a strictly screened and monitored networking platform to help African business start-ups to reach investors and to secure investment funds through business loans and equity investments. The Company intends to have a pan-African presence, currently beginning with Nigeria, Rwanda, Egypt, Kenya and South Africa.
